    Blueprint for Leadership – How to Be a Better Leader 

    If you were to build a house, you would begin with a blueprint. This blueprint proves useful because it contains more than directions on how to build a house. It also describes the finished house.

    So, what does this have to do with leadership ??!

    Last month I asked an audience of leaders to tell me the characteristics of an ideal leader. Their answers were (in the order collected) :

    A good listener, enthusiasm, passion, shows appreciation, a visionary, role model, trusting, integrity, organized, knowledgeable, credibility, persuasive, charisma, team building, clarity of purpose, problem solver, attitude of service, leads by example, patience, willing to act without complete knowledge, understands followers, consistent, empowers other people, and adapts to change.

    Control in Time Management 

    Control is having the power to manage ourselves. When we have control of our lives, then we have the ability to manage anything that comes our way. No one can control every aspect of life, but we can maintain some control over what happens to us.

    It is important to keep in mind that all things in life have an effect on us somehow, and when we are trying to learn time management, we need to consider that. The process of time management is complicated, but once mastered, makes life much easier. In order to develop an effective time management plan, you need to consider all areas of your life, and evaluate where your time is spent.

    3 Time Management Tips for Stay at Home Moms 

    Time management can be a big issue for stay at home moms that have many things going on in their lives. For mothers that truly want the best for themselves and their families, time management can play a major role as to their success.

    If you always feel rushed and you feel you can’t get anything completed during the day you might want to address your time management methods. If you have the feeling of not being able to focus on one thing at a time and not being able to handle distractions well, then you should take a step away from the action and relearn the basics.

    Time management is a simple concept: plan and organize your schedule to make your time as clear and productive as possible. However, as with most stay at home moms, we must accept that there will be plenty adversity during the day and we have to deal with it.

    What is Time Management ??! 

    Because each of us is unique and different, we have to find out what works best for us in our own ways. This path to this starts with the basics in our own time management. Basic time management is setting up goals and plans that are reachable.

    When setting goals for ourselves we should ask…”Is this goal reachable? Can I achieve this goal? What do I do to make this goal successful? Asking yourself the right questions is one basic element of developing a time management routine that works for you. Another basic element in time management is asking for help. That is a plan that helps to lead you to success.

    To do or not to do … That is the question !!! 

    Do you think Julius Caesar worried about Marcus Brutus keeping a task list ??! Perhaps he should have ...

    So how do you manage your task list? WHAT ... you don't have one? Better start one today! One of the biggest challenges we have in our fast paced world is we are bombarded with information. So much so, it makes it increasingly difficult to remember everything we need to. How much could a missed commitment to a valued client cost you?

    A task list will make you much more productive! Guaranteed.

    To do lists, or task lists are not only for your business tasks but personal tasks as well. It doesn’t matter what system you use, be it paper or one of many excellent software programs on the market today, as long as you use it. I find Microsoft Outlook works well for me; I print a hard copy of my day's appointments and tasks.
